David Bloomfield painting the frames of 7200

(Diddy)

David (Diddy) to his friends, wishing he had a pint in his hand, instead of paint brush. As always in at the deep end having taken on the mammoth task of painting the frames of 7200 at the former Great Western Railway Works, Swindon.

David, being a keen member of the away party, travelled down to Swindon every fortnight to prepare the locomotive for the restoration and its eventual return to Quainton, after the specialist works had been carried out.

Being a founder trustee, a constitutional signatory, the honorary Minutes Secretary, and with his house being the registered address of the Trust. His boundless enthusiasm and total dedication to the Trust would find him travelling the length and breadth of the country raising funds and pushing the cause of 7200.

His passing at such an early age of 48 was a great shock, not only the members of the Trust, but all that knew and loved him.

SADLY MISSED & FONDLY REMEMBERED
