Restoring the GWR 7200 class prototype steam locomotive

Members' News

Membership

Message from Eric Miller (Hon. Secretary):

Several members have failed to renew their membership this year. This is regrettable, but possibly a sign of the times, with household budgets being stretched. This is not only annual members, but club members who are our mainstay. The nearer we are to completion, the more members will be required, and we must be considering this at the present time.

We need a support team, some of whom may have to travel with the loco to other sites when the loco is on hire. So, please, try to enrol members, encourage them to the website, and to view the loco on a working party day.

We started to try to have a membership of a hundred; we have never achieved it. So go to it and see what we can do. Remember, the loco could be fully restored in three years time, we must pursue this now.

Travelling Expenses

Members who attend Working Party sessions at Quainton should read the information on claiming travelling expenses, as this is a way of raising funds for the Trust.
